Howdy folks!

How are you? Hope you all had a great week and an awesome weekend with movies like Hangover II and Kungfu Panda II to watch out 🙂

For me it was lots of movies, a very light weight on stomach with juice and fiber and some real good time with old friends. After the sunday noon movie, i left home to catch up wid one of my old buddies and it was my first time to his lately shifted rented house. As I entered, I saw this wall….this amazing textured paint on one of the front room walls.

Since the rest of the gang too were already there, I couldnt resist the temptation of taking some shots there. Had to go back home and return with all my gear. When i say all my gear its a cam, 2 lenses, 1 flash light and an umbrella (one used for rains :D) with some DIY stuff to attach things.

Heres a collage of some shots that i took of my dear friend Ketan, RJ as we fondly call him. As he appears from the pics, is a decent, take home to mom kinda guy for any girl 😀  Preferably introvert and yet fun loving and good with writing poems and stuff. It took us lot of shots and exchange of sleazy comments for him to get comfortable and get loose to grab some natural expressions.

Like most of us, he loves to get into a pic and see himself 😀 but thats not that simple when someone asks you to give you a pose with professional gear in hand and a light man standing around….although the lightman and the photographer are both his close friends. Heheheh!

and ofcourse, when people surrounding you are your close friends, then there will be a lot of leg pulling and whipping comments which eventually results to some comfy light hearted shots

For any portrait shooter, the most difficult part remains to bring out the original character of a person into the image. You are what you are. And a good portrait of you should bring that out.

Its a real difficult job on that part. Good light, good composition, good timing are all necessary ingredients of a good snap, but a cooked up emotion and duplicate expression can completely ruin a portrait. Soft skills you see? and i still play around with that a lot like a kid 😉

This is Akshay, another cool guy, preferably shy, but fun loving and good with guitar. We have been poking each other for such a shoot since long, but somehow our personal lives kept us too busy.

Since he himself is a photography enthusiast, so it was much faster to ease him and get into the mood 🙂

Its a no brainer to shoot someone who loves to be himself. You just have to tell them to act like someone or something and you will get shot after shot after shot.

Now like usual, there is no specific lighting diagram that i can share with you guys for the shots shared above, but here are my other darlings who helped me with my madness. Thats Pradip on the left……he wasnt liking it at all, but did it only for my sake. Thats why i call them darlings u see? 🙂

And hey you can see there…..my professional lighting equipment?? hahahha! Thats my wife’s umbrella and my home made DIY ball bungee used to attach the speedlight to wherever i wish.

And this is Abhishek, another close to heart friend. Notoriously famous for his decent nature and giving attitude.

This gang of mine is a pack of sheep (hopelessly decent guys :D) and i obviously dont fit in here coz am a complete opposite, but they always pull me in for the variety that adds up to the table 😉  I love hanging around with them since these guys are on toes for any trip or outing and actually show up on the d-day, unlike a lot others who love to plan but rarely execute. We all are always at our best over a table of food. When we sit down to eat, eating becomes just an excuse to empty our heads….we would bring down & talk about everything known to mankind and chew it down 😀

Hope you all got a knack of the fun we had and wish you all had greater fun at your places with ur beloved ones. Keep rocking and have fun buddies!

Cheers!
