Life is being fair to you?! I hope yes! 🙂 To me?? Ummm, yeah! Kind of! 🙂

The last fair-y tale i got to shoot was a week ago. It was a wonderful weekend spent at a small township named Uppala in Kerala-Karnataka border. Was there to shoot the wedding of a very dear couple Satish & Deepa. Uppala is hometown to Deepa. And boy!! thats one heck of a beautiful place to live. Lush green palm & coconut tree fields, water-well beside every home, cattle & hens as pets, vibrant birds playing background score, ponds/canals at walkable distance and so on.

And the food? Oh fish!!! Fresh, yummy fish & amazing local dishes. Ever heard of idi-appam?! Ooo lala! Thats the beginning! 🙂

Ahem! sorry! got carried away. The mallu hormones kicked in and the dear couple got side tracked 😀 So i reached day before wedding day with 3 of Deepa’s close friends. Easily said, we were pampered with VIP treatment. Such humble people. Such humble living. And such king size hospitality! Deepa’s aunts kept busy cooking delicious meals while entertaining our silly enthusiasm around small town cooking setups! 🙂 Men busy with calculations & arrangements. Her cousins : a shy vibrant gang were the chirp that kept entire environment live wire. To me, it was like an orchestra performing in perfect sync. Loved every bit of it! And I sure missed equal heck of beauty at Satish’s side that day 🙂

Meanwhile if you know this couple, I dont need tell you that they are style icons in their own small world. Look at the invitation for e.g. ….so sober & classy

Satish, is a guy of varied charms. He does amazing sketches, is a very talented dancer, software guru and a man with killer dimpled smile 🙂 Deepa beats all that with her small town rooted elegance, an enviable taste for gorgeous getup’s and a rocking stature in her noble profession : teaching! I’ve heard a lot about her throbbing student fan following. And seen a glimpse, on their sangeet function. One of her old students was amongst the friends i traveled with. 800 Kms to attend your teacher’s wedding, anyone?!! Am sure theres an avalanche awaiting their reception party. Lord! give me 2 more hands for the day! 😀 By the way, their sangeet function was a blasting dance show. Friends & relatives performed a surprise staging of their  story from childhood till date. It was hard for me to keep hands tied to the camera. Every act urged me to cheer & applaud 🙂

Deepa & Satish were blessed with a very calm and colorful wedding. From start to finish, everything was harmonic. The music in background all through rituals was live classical performance. People who rushed for blessing them were mostly near, far & far far relatives, such a gigantic grand family! The food was a perfect blend of known favourites and unusual local delicacies. What else left for a blissful wedding?! 🙂

 

 

Am so very glad that Satish & Deepa stretched themselves to have me document their biggest day.
